How the online system works

  • Purchase and Schedule your testing time together using the calendar above. A live, human proctor will help you when your test begins. This is a heavily regulated test and requires monitoring by a licensed test administrator on your computer, similar to a specialized Skype or FaceTime video call.
  • Take your test. You will be sent your certification card in the mail for passing scores. If you don't pass the first time you can purchase and schedule retests.

When does the test start and finish?

How long after purchasing do I have to take the test?
You must take the test within 30 days of purchasing it.
What are the computer requirements?
A webcam. Headphones/speakers and a microphone. The test must be taken on the Google Chrome web browser, which is free to download here: www.google.com/chrome. A reliable, high-speed internet connection. The ability to allow video and screen-sharing connections to the computer. What's the online testing like?
Taking your test online is very similar to taking it at a testing center. When you log in to take your exam you will be asked to show some kind of government issued ID. The proctor will ask you to pick up your webcam and show them around your room to make sure your coworker isn't hiding in the corner to whisper you answers. They will ask you a few identification questions and they will monitor your computer screen and watch you through your webcam as you take your test. Sometimes the proctor will ask you to show them part of the room or the desk in the middle of the exam to make sure your microphone and camera is live. They will be able to see what you see on the computer screen to make sure you don't google some answers.
What do I do if I am not a US Citizen?
Purchase the test and take it! No citizenship is required to take the test online because this is an internationally accepted license!
What happens if I fail?
If you need to take the test again for any reason, you can purchase the retest option at a heavily discounted rate. We hope that you pass the EPA 608 Universal test the first time, but
Is this really the EPA 608 test?
Yes. You will receive your card in the mail a few weeks after passing your exam.
Do I have to be a citizen of the United States?
You do not have to be a citizen of the United States to get your EPA 608 certification. You do need an official form of identification, such as a work ID, government ID, or passport. The certification is recognized around the world.
What if my computer does not meet the system requirements?
